Meditation has been considered a tried-and-true method for achieving anxiety relief, stress relief,  mental focus, tranquillity, and contentment for a very long time. Whatever is happening in your life—however much pressure and restlessness you are experiencing—sitting in the peacefulness of meditation could always just return you to a moment of absolute peace. With the amount of wisdom and tranquillity that comes with regular practice of meditation, anything can be achieved. Meditation has been shown in studies to help alleviate anxiety, increase focus, and improve memory retention. As a  result, it is unsurprising that some of the world’s most successful corporate executives, artists and leaders depend on this practice to help them prosper in their career paths. And we are not the only ones who believe in the power of meditation. Many famous and successful leaders swear by the effects of  meditation and here’s why:

Bill Gates

Meditation, according to Microsoft’s founder, Bill Gates, is one of his greatest influential and effective practices. I’m certainly not an expert, but I now meditate two or three times a week, for about 10  minutes each time,” says the self-made billionaire. “I now see that meditation simply exercises for the mind, similar to the way we exercise our muscles when we play sports,” he wrote in his blog and continued “For me, it has nothing to do with faith or mysticism. It’s about taking a few minutes out of  my day, learning how to pay attention to the thoughts in my head, and gaining a little bit of distance  from them.”

Mark Benioff

He has been meditating since the start of his career, while he was continuing to work at Oracle. He attributes the practice with providing him with the nudge he required to broaden his prospects. In contexts of employee well-being and mental health, Salesforce is now one of the most progressive businesses. Salesforce has constructed meditation spaces into every corporate office and strongly encourage staff to relax and meditate regularly successful.

Ariana Huffington

She founded the Huffington Post and has been meditating since she was a youngster. She is now an outspoken proponent of meditation, claiming that it has played a significant role in her accomplishments. As Ariana once quoted “Meditation is not about stopping thoughts, but recognizing that we are more than our thoughts and our feelings,” and we could not agree more.

Steve Jobs

The late tech icon, who was the chairman and co-founder of Apple Inc. once said “If you just sit and observe, you will see how restless your mind is. If you try to calm it, it only makes it worse, but over time  it does calm, and when it does, there’s room to hear more subtle things — that’s when your intuition  starts to blossom and you start to see things more clearly and be in the present.” Steve Jobs often talked about how meditation helped his creativity come out and also in gaining a better perspective.  Meditation enabled him to snip through the turmoil of his surroundings and actively realize his objective.

CEO Jeff Weiner founded the proficient social network LinkedIn in 2009 and since then has managed to grow the organisation to over 450 million participants. Weiner declares that meditation allows him to understand and practise compassion and empathy, which improves his efficiency. 

Oprah Winfrey

Oprah Winfrey, worth $4 billion, has spoken candidly regarding her meditation practice and its influence on her living. She once stated “I wake up to the sound of birds now (what I’ve taken to calling real twitter). Before getting out of bed, I pause for a moment to acknowledge and appreciate the sound. And  even in New York City, waking to the grinding of garbage trucks, I note and appreciate that the city’s  coming alive, that another day has dawned and, choice by choice, we get to live it.” Oprah Winfrey perceives meditation as a method of making a connection with God and says that it has been a major component in her journey to a successful life.

Russel Simons

Nothing describes Russell Simons’ fondness for meditation as much as this statement of his, “I can promise you that no tool has made me a smarter, more focused and clearer thinking entrepreneur than meditation. When you sit quietly and let your mind settle, all the innovative, inventive and inspired  ideas that have been hiding out in the depths of your mind are going to begin to bubble to the surface.”  “Meditation is the greatest tool that I know of to help you both harness and maximize your entrepreneurial spirit,” states Simmons.

Madonna engages in mind-body training sessions such as Pilates and Ashtanga yoga, as well as an  Ayurvedic diet, an ancient methodology that emphasises the interconnectivity of the mind, body, and our atmosphere. Madonna has been confirmed to practise Mindfulness Meditation in addition to the  Ayurvedic diet to maintain her mind-body link.

All these people and thousands of others who have changed their lives upside down swear by meditation and its benefits. It does not matter who or where you are, what matter is your will to do something for yourself and your world. The stories of these successful people from what they were when they began their journey to success and where they are now really implying that nothing is impossible. Through hard work, meditation and focus, they achieved what they have today and so can you.

The count of believers in meditation is increasing every minute. More and more people are now inclining towards meditation and its power to transform a person into their best self.
